On 12 June in Tbilisi (GEORGIA), Gianesini and Prof. Zaza Lazarashvili, an international leader in the treatment of pelvic venous reflux, presented to the Ministry of Health the international consensus document on the treatment of Pelvic Congestion Syndrome. This female condition, analogous to male varicocele, is now better defined by the broader clinical framework known as “pelvic venous disorders” and is a cause of lower abdominal pain in up to 30% of women. In addition to the scientific document, an educational campaign has also been launched by Gianesini and Lazarashvili and made freely available on the website www.vwinfoundation.com/education.
